Larry Clarence Toney

Larry Clarence Toney, 82, of Mullens, passed away on March 10, 2024.

Born November 6, 1941 to the late Clarence and Leona Toney, he leaves behind his wife of 64 years Veda C. Toney, son Larry Dean Toney, daughter, Melissa Cook & husband Bill Cook, son Allen Toney, and daughter, Jamie Toney Mullins.
His grandchildren, Chad Wilcox, & wife Caitlin Wilcox, Amanda White & husband Thomas White, Erica Toney Matthew Wilcox, & wife Lilly Wilcox, Michaela Frantz, & husband Hunter Frantz. A sister, Faye Combs, brother Danny Toney, and brother David Toney. His great grandchildren include, Aidan Shrewsbury, Noah Shrewsbury, Brody White, Audrey Shrewsbury, Lexi Wilcox, Emma Wilcox, Jayse White, Haisley Shumaker, Makenzie White, Ryder Wilcox, Michael Frantz, as well as welcoming a new addition in May.

In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by his son, Michael Toney, brother, Bobby Toney, brother, Jimmy Toney, sister Gloria Worley, and sister Janet Weaver.

Larry was a coal miner and a state mine inspector by trade, retiring in the 90's.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a true family man and will be remembered for his willingness to go above and beyond for his family and Friends. He loved his family and enjoyed the times spent together most of all. Larry never met a stranger and was always smiling and eager to talk. He enjoyed talking about the good ole days, telling stories of times passed, making up stories for his great grandkids like his famous popsicle tree, and planning Bigfoot hunts.



Services will be conducted in the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel on Friday March 15th, 2024 at 1130am with the Reverend Johnny Morgan officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1130. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.
