Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Friday, April 6th, followed by a 1pm service at Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV with the Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV.

Roman Ray Daniels

Roman Ray Daniels, 73, of Beckley, died April 2nd, at his home. He was born October 16th, 1944, in Logan County, WV, and was the son of the late Junior and Pauline Bailey Daniels, and was the oldest of four children.

Roman was an Army Veteran and retired coal miner who enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He always kept a meticulous yard and loved spending time visiting with his son and grandchildren.

Like his father before him, Roman’s work ethic set an example for his children and all who knew him, due to his hard work, pride and integrity.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rose “Becky” Gibson, brother-in-law, Larry Gibson, and nephew, Brian Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Boggs Daniels; a son, Michael Daniels, and wife, Tara of Hurricane, WV; a daughter, Kimberly Carpenter, and husband, Kevin of Glen Daniels, WV; a brother, Roger Daniels, and wife, Ethel of Shady Spring, WV; a brother, Eddie Daniels, and companion, Delores Gill, of Shady Spring, WV; half- brothers, Scott and Brandon Daniels; a nephew, Bart Gibson, and wife, Natalie; grandchildren, Landon and Ella Daniels, Logan Carpenter, and wife, Jessica, and Luke and Sierra Carpenter; a great-granddaughter, Lyla Carpenter; special aunt, Brookie Hart; uncle, Dowell Bailey; cousins, Mildred Peters, Cookie Worley and Bill Maynard; and best friend, Leonard Gibson.
