Committal services will be Thursday, June 7 at 2:00 pm in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B. Rev. Matthew Hill will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the mausoleum. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of sympathy to the Bowers Hospice House, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802 or the charity of your choice.

Rex A. Crouch

Rex Aldean Crouch, age 89, passed away on June 5th, 2018. He was born on August 12, 1928, to the late Emma Brewer Harless and Benjamin Crouch.

One of “The Great Generation,” Rex was called to serve his country at the age of 17 in the final months of World War II, being a veteran of the US Army.’

He was a coal miner for Itman and Slab Fork Mines. Rex also worked as a maintenance personnel for the Beckley Post Office in Beckley. He was a Scout Master and coached Little League and Senior League Baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ward Crouch; a son, Michael Alvis Crouch; a brother, Walter Howard Moore and sister-in-law, Ruby Moore; an infant sister; and a granddaughter, Rebekah Faith Crouch.

Survivors are daughters, Christina Crouch and Rexanna Hughes (Danny); a son, Lee Crouch (Melinda); granddaughters, Amy Houck (JB), Amanda Hughes (Gary Harris) and Jenna Crouch; grandsons, Danny Hughes (Jessica Rucker) and Shawn Crouch (Nikki); great grandsons, Danny Hughes III, Joshua Houck, Aidan and Brandon Crouch.
