Meredith (Mere) Michelle Snead of Beckley, WV died July 1, 2018. A time of remembering will be held at Melton Mortuary, Beckley, WV on Saturday July 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm, with a eulogy at 6:30 pm.
Meredith (Mere) Michelle Snead was born in Beckley, WV on June 16th, 1981. She was daughter of Michael and Nancy (Little) Snead. She is also survived by her brother Ike & wife Shenna, her beloved nephew Ryland of Fairmont, WV, grandparents Ruth (Snead) & Marvin Dorsey, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends Bri, Charlie and Maddie, and her fur babies, Frank, Moe and Raleigh. She was preceded in death by grandparents Marian and Harold Little, Bernard Snead, uncle Don Hughes, cousin Matthew Glass, and fiancé Shaun Veres.
Mere was a devoted scientist. She studied Chemistry at WVU, Mountain State University, Concord College and received her BS Degree in Applied Sciences from Bluefield State in 2013. She was known as an excellent Chemistry TA and changed the lives of many through her tutoring. She was a passionate activist and fought strongly for her beliefs. She championed many causes, including Mountaineer Immunization Coalition & The Humane Society. She was a member of the WV Legislative Minority Group, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She advised many state coalition leaders in improving immunizations within their states. She was recognized in Forbes Magazine, for her grassroot efforts to maintain high immunization rates in West Virginia. She enjoyed painting, writing songs, and listening to a wide variety of music. She lived fearlessly under her life motto: “Never The Less, She Persisted”.
