On Friday, July 6 at 1:00 pm there will be a “Service of Remembrance” for our sweet Lori in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastors, David Altizer and Betty Lusk will be officiating. Lori will be laid to rest in the Hurt-Trail section of the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. The family is receiving friends at 12 noon on Friday at the mortuary.

Lori Fisher Thompson

On Saturday, June 30th, 2018, our most cherished, Lori Ann Fisher Thompson passed away at the University of Virginia following a sudden illness. A resident of Shady Spring, Lori was only 44 years of age.

One of six children, Lori Ann Fisher was born on September 19, 1973. She was the daughter of Roger Fisher of Beckley and the late Gerry Hewitt Fisher. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by a sister, Becky Fondale.

A lifelong resident of Raleigh County, she was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Lori had a high work ethic. She worked 21 years for Wendy’s and then began a career with Kroger in Beaver. She attended the Blue Jay United Methodist Church. Lori loved the beach, outdoor activities, the Pittsburg Steelers and chocolate chip cookies! She loved her family and loved to laugh.

In addition to her father Roger, Lori leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Tommie Thompson; her dear sisters, Beverly Tolliver and John Lafferty, Cherrie Meadows, Cindy and Ken Lilly; brother, Butch Fisher and wife Judy and a large extended family as well as her in-laws, the Thompson family.
