David’s Home Going Service will be Saturday, March 31, at 3:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family is receiving friends at 2:00 pm.

Jerry “David” (aka Shoeshine) Stewart, 61, of Coal City died March 28th, 2018 at the home of his mother, Joann Hatfield Stewart. David has departed to claim his reward, John 14:3
David was born on December 19th, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was preceded in death on his journey by his father, Jerry David Stewart Sr., and his younger sister, Kimberly Stewart Dalton.
Left behind to finish their journey are his sister, Carla and husband, Bill Bolen of Coal City; brothers, Craig Stewart of Princewick, Darin Stewart, Overland Missionary to the Congo; a host of beloved family members and friends.
A special thanks to his caregivers, Debbie Hensley and Taylor Davis.
While making his earthly journey David was a member of the House of Prayer of Sophia. He was an avid race car fan and a lover of music, big trucks and was a bird watcher.

A tribute in song will be offered by Traci Davis, the final farewell will by Brother Ed Tucker. Burial will be Gethsemane Memorial Gardens with a balloon released. Those chosen to escort him are Bill Bolen, Kenny Martin, Craig and Darin Stewart , Jason Tucker and Barry White.
