Inocencio Perez MD
It is with a heavy heart but with much gratitude for a long life, that we the family of Dr. Inocencio Perez announce his passing on November 2nd, 2018. He was in his 95th year.
Inocencio’s life adventure began on June 22nd, 1923. The last surviving child of four, Inocencio Perez Perez was born in Pototan, Iloilo, Philippines. He was the son of Bernadine and Pilar (nee Perez )Perez.
Inocencio received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Santo Tomas University in Manila, Philippines. He permanently arrived in the United States in 1969, completing his residence in Canada, Ohio and West Virginia. First practicing in Weirton, he settled in Beckley in 1975, Dr. Perez was a highly respected physician in this community for many years.
It is hard to describe our dear father in a few words. Humility, gentleness, kindness, generous, gardener ( a grower of hydrangeas), he loved to mow and tend to his lawn, watching baseball and basketball, and most of all, a man of great faith.
On Valentine’s Day in 1956, Inocencio married the great love of his life, Leonadias Ubalde, theirs was a great love that would endure 60 years. They both were faithful and devoted members of St. Francis de Sales Parrish. “ Lily” as she was affectionately known, passed on Easter Sunday in 2016, and now Inocencio went to see God on All Souls Day, a sign from above, that this dear couple would be sent to the Lord on such good days.
To Inocencio and Lily’s union was born three children, Robin, Jon and Iris. They were awesome parents to all three of us. Robin is married to Heike and they have four children, they make their home in West Virginia, Jon lives in New Hampshire and Iris in California.
We could go on and on about this good man, but in the end your legacy is how you treated your fellow man. All we leave in the end is our name and Inocencio Perez has left his……
