A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, July 14 at 11 am at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Rev. Ken Killen officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by the service time on Saturday.  The gravesite is near the Tower.

Dorothy Wilson Runion

Dorothy Atriss Wilson Runion, 90, of Beckley passed peacefully on July 11, 2018.

Born March 18, 1928 in Bud, WV; she was the daughter of the late B.T. Wilson and Viola B. Hash Wilson. She was a Special Ed. aid at Stephenson Elementary and had worked as a retail clerk in Mullens, WV.   She was a resident of Bud, WV for over 50 years before moving to Beckley, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McKinley Runion Sr.; two sisters, Nannie Lou Wilmouth and Francis Glover; and two brothers, Danny Wilson and B.T. Wilson, Jr.

Survivors include one son, Michael Runion and wife Louise of Scott Depot, WV; and one daughter, Sybil (Susie) Clark and husband Steven of MacArthur-with whom she’d made her home the last 7 years; four grandchildren, Andrea Barbour and husband Ken of Winston-Salem, NC, Brittany Shannon and husband Kole of Charleston, WV, Adam Runion and wife Becky of Summersville, SC, and Rachel McAlister and husband Scott of Beckley, WV;  ten great grandchildren: Caleb, Leslie Grace, Daniel, and Asa Barbour;  Kinsey, Karly, and Konner Shannon,  Caeden and Cash Runion; and Mason McAlister; one sister, Mary Ann Wilson of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews that were special to her.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Suresh Thomas, Dr. Karam, and Dr. Blaydes for the care they provided Dorothy all these years and to the nurses of the SICU at Raleigh General Hospital and Bowers Hospice House for their compassion these past few weeks.
