He was a truck driver before having to retire in 2009. Billy also worked in the timber and lumber business. He was loved by many and all the children thru his wife’s day care called him “Pa Paw Billy.” He loved them all.

Billy was a veteran, serving in the Air Force. He took pride in his yard work and flowers. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Moody Harold and Vida Farley Young; a sister, Delores Young and brother, Dean Young; two brother-in-laws, Donald and Jim.

Billy is survived by his wife, Joyce Young of 20 years; adopted son/grandson, Nicholas Scott Young; granddaughters, Triston “Nikki” Harding and companion, Dylon Williams, Kayla Webb and husband, David, Cinitia Scott, Peyton Long, and Kamyrn Long; grandsons, Seth Long and wife, Amanda, Nicholas Scott, Zander Long, Jacob Scott, James Scott, Matthew Scott, Ethan Scott, Mark Long and Christopher, Scott; great-grandchildren, Davy Webb, Jonathon Webb and a host of children that called him “Pa Paw.”

A special thanks to the staff of Deborah Mathis at the home based VA Primary Care; all the nurses on the 3rd and 4th floor of the VA Medical Center that took great care of him.

Billy never met a person he did not stop and talk to or help in some way. He will be missed by everyone who’s life that he touched. “See you in Heaven my darling. I love you.”
