Selwyn Vanderpool, a resident of 734 Vanderpool Lane, Renick WV, died July 6, 2017, at Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, West Virginia, at the age of 94 years. He and his late wife, Lila, had been residents of Greenbrier County since 1971.
Selwyn was born September 18, 1922, at Radnor, Wayne County, West Virginia, the son of the late Jessie Mabel Patrick Vanderpool and John Mathias Vanderpool.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Lila Litchfield Vanderpool, and nine siblings, four sisters and five brothers.
Selwyn was a graduate of West Virginia University with a B. S. in Business Administration. He served with the United States Air Force during World War II. After his honorable discharge from military service, he was employed in the area of sales and marketing throughout the remainder of his career. He was an active member of the Greenbrier County Republican Club. His passion was hunting on his Greenbrier County farm.
