Darrell Lee  Gillespie

Darrell Lee Gillespie, 74, passed away on December 9th, 2017, at his home in Daniels, West Virginia following a long illness.

He was born on October 20th, 1943, at Jonben.  He was the son of the late Brady and Grace Gillespie;  two brothers, Paul and David Gillespie and a sister, Anna Taylor preceded him in death as well.

A Navy veteran, Darrell served in Vietnam.  He was retired coal miner and construction worker.

Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gensening.   Anything outdoors, including looking for “Big Foot” would make his day. Darrell will be remembered for his sense of humor and could bring a smile to anyone’s face.   He enjoyed listening to blue Grass and could play any instrument put in front of him.   “A Jack of All Trades,” Darrell could do anything he put his mind to.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 42 years, Connie; five sons, Doug, Darrell, Brian, Kevin and Cameron and one daughter, Carmen; eight grandchildren, Kristen, Heather, Hannah, Charity, Brian, Isiah, Luke, and Madelyn; four great –grandchildren, Alexis, Karsyn, Brian, and Asher; two brothers, Dane and Ross and one sister, Rita Daniel; a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

Darrell will be missed by all.
