A Time of Gathering will be held at Melton Mortuary’s Chapel, Friday, September 22, 2017. Family will gather from 12PM – 2PM and the service will begin at 2PM. The funeral will proceed after the service to the place of rest, the Ben Meadows Cemetery in Princewick, WV.

Carlos Lee Meadows

Carlos Lee Meadows, 63, of Coal City, WV, passed away Thursday September 14, 2017 following a sudden illness.  He was born on February 22, 1954 to Eva June Rutledge Meadows and James Walter Meadows. On December 26, 1972 he married his true love, Celie Almeda Tingler.  His outgoing and frivolous persona stretched far and wide to family, friends and at times, even strangers. Some of Carlos’ life highlights consisted of his family, racing, mining, auto body work/painting, farm animals, and trying to maintain his winning streak in a game of horseshoes.

Survivors include his wife, Celie, his son Carlos Lee Meadows Jr. and his wife Cindy from Princewick, WV; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Redden from Beckley, WV and Crystal Jane Pierce and husband Casey from Coal City, WV. Carlos had four grandsons; Christopher Redden of Beckley, Anthony, Matthew and Ethan Meadows, all of Princewick. He had three granddaughters, Ivy Nelson of Beckley, Amber Meadows of Princewick, and Mckenzie Pierce of Coal City. He also was blessed with one great grandchild, Ava Grace Adkins from Beckley.  He had three brothers; Franklin Dale Meadows and late wife Linda of Midway, WV, James Walter Meadows and companion Linda Blevins of Coal City, and Mark Stephan Meadows and wife Bridget of Daniels, WV. He had two sisters; Mary Cole and husband Gary from Coal City, and Mona Akers and husband Alan from Fireco, WV.  Some of Carlos’ closest friends; Jerry Rice, Eddie Combs, Eddie Bowers, and Brandon DeBoard all of Coal City, and Keith Walker from Odd, WV also survive.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Walter Meadows, mother, Eva June Rutledge Meadows, two brothers; Gary Wayne Meadows and Danny Leon Meadows.

Pallbearers will consist of Carlos and Anthony Meadows, Christopher Redden, Casey Pierce, Brandon DeBoard, and Greg Meadows with back-ups being Gary and Walt Meadows.  Matthew Meadows will serving as an honorary pallbearer.
